What’s New in Sage 50 Accounts 2013 ?

The release of Sage 50 Accounts 2013 has been designed and shaped by many of  the users of the previous versions, as Sage have asked them and responded to what they needed to be improved and where they had been experiencing the most "pain". Sage 50 Accounts 2013 also helps users that are new to Sage 50 during their first year and improves the biggest point of pain for existing users, namely reporting.
 
 
 
 
Easier to Get up and Running
  1. My First Year  Brand new "Customise your company" wizard when creating a new company, leading you through setting your company default settings with clear and helpful videos explaining each setting;
  2. Improved Help Files All help files are now online so they are always up-to-date: if you are without an internet connection you will see the original help files;
  3. Improved Language Language inconsistencies have been addressed throughout the software and more English and less Accountant language has been brought in to the software. Over 1000 function and feature labels have been updated and improved so that you know what you are doing and where in the software you should be doing it.
Quick Tasks
  1. Buy / Sell Button  Now you are able to select several Products in "one go" and then create a Sales Quote, Sales Order, Sales Invoice or Purchase Order. You just need to now select the Customer or Supplier reference, perhaps amend the quantities and then click Save;
  2. Automatic Allocation / On Order  Now you are prompted to allocate stock at the time of the creation of a Sales Order or to place a Purchase Order On Order, so that there is no danger of missing out this step;
  3. Cash Sales A Cash Sales button has now been added to the invoicing module, so that "over the counter" cash sales can now be made and the correct documentation produced without having to go via the Sales Order Processing module. So now, you are able to record the invoice, the cash transaction and update the stock levels all in one action.
Simplified Period End Tasks and VAT Tasks
  1. Re-designed Month End and Year End Screens Clearer screens have been implemented, guiding you through these relatively infrequent procedures, ensuring that you don't miss out one of the steps during these processes;
  2. VAT Ledger icons re-organised The icons have been sorted in a much more logical way and some have been removed entirely as they have been included in the new VAT Tasks option;
  3. VAT Tasks The VAT process has been improved and made much more logical for you to be guided through the VAT return process;
  4. Irish VAT Now customers in Ireland are now able to produce a VAT return quickly that satisfies Irish legislation.
 
 
 
Improvements to Report Browser
 
Quite a few improvements have been made as follow:
 
  • Easy to understand descriptions of reports have been added;
  • Much easier to add reports to Favorites;
  • Now able to preview a report before you run it, so much easier to see that you will be running the correct report;
  • Quick export of a report to Microsoft Excel;
  • Quick export of a report to PDF.
Improvements to Reporting
 
Quite a few improvements have been made as follow:
 
  • New Dynamic Help;
  • Easier to add logos, lines, text fields etc…;
  • Now able to add watermarks;
  • Several new templates;
  • New "To Excel" button has been added in lots of locations to make it so much easier to export to Microsoft Excel;
  • Excel Integrated Reporting has been "embedded" into the new software, so much easier to access;
  • Drill-down reports now have the "drillable" areas highlighted in blue so much easier to see where "drillable";
  • Brand new Comparative Profit & Loss Report, enabling you to compare prior year figures and budgets on the same report as the current Profit & Loss;
  • Improvements have been made to the speed in which reports are produced;
  • Improvements in the way that settings are made for the emailing of documents, making it much easier for you to configure;
  • Up to THREE email addresses per customer or supplier now available;
  • Quick view to enable you to see at-a-glance which order a product is allocated to: vast improvement as before, you would need to run several reports to obtain the same information;
  • Brand new Secure Cheque layout to beat the fraudsters.
